Best Fishes

Happy Tuesday! I had the best of intentions to get a whole lot of cards done this weekend, but I got sidetracked with another project and just didn't get to them. Darn this nice summer weather!

Anyway, I managed to make a quickie card last night after Monday Movie Night (500 Days of Summer gets a four and a half stamp rating).

The cardstock is by Bazzill, the patterned paper is by Memory Box, the stamps and the ribbon are by A Muse.

Have a great day!

Tracy's Sketch Challenge

I've been jonesin' for challenges ever since A Muse a Palooza ended last week, so of course I had to do a card for Tracy's Sketch Challenge. And, given her big news, I just had to make a card for Tracy. Here it is!

I just love this little tiny cat by Denami Designs. She's almost as cute as Jinxy (but not quite!). I can't wait to see the Denami booth in September, when I'll be making a trek down to Las Vegas for the Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo. I've never been, but it coincides with a trip I was making down there anyway, so I figured what the heck! Anyone been? What'd you think?

The cat is by Denami Design, the sentiment is by the Cat's Pajamas, the patterned paper and card base are by Memory Box and the ribbon is by American Crafts.

Have a great day!

It's a Guy Thing!

This month (and actually last month's) challenge on the A Muse Lounge was to create a card for a guy. I should warn you that I am notoriously bad at making guy cards, even to the point of having to BUY anniversary and birthday cards for my husband. (gasp!) But, here's my best last-minute attempt at one:

I love this little penguin, who I've determined is a guy. After all, would a girl penguin get stuck on a piece of ice in the middle of a lake? I think she'd ask for directions! (wink!)

The stamps, paper and ribbon are all by A Muse.

Pajama Party--Challenge 4!

For the fourth and final challenge, we were asked to make a card inspired by our favorite movie. My first thought was a fish card with for Finding Nemo, but with my limited supplies, I didn't have my fish stamp with me.

So, I went for Plan B, my favorite movie of last summer. Based on the card, can you guess what it is???

Okay, I know he's technically a "Robot Kid," but I hope I effectively turned him into Iron Man! I trimmed off his antennae and his ear bolts and colored him in with my Lipstick Red Copic and my red Spica for a real metal glint. This card is my favorite of the three I made tonight.

I love that the A Muse team provided these great prompts, and I'm feeling re-invigorated in stamping and in life. I hope to be back into the swing of things next week with more regular posts and cards.

See you soon!

Pajama Party--Challenge 3!

I couldn't stop eating my dinner long enough to pull off Challenge 2 (to create a card based on a game), but I did get in on the action for Challenge 3. The third challenge was to create a card for a very best girlfriend.

Sadly, my best friend lives exactly 2,904 miles away in North Carolina. I don't get to see her nearly as often as I'd like, so sending her cards is a great way to keep in touch between phone calls. I made my challenge card for her.

The patterned paper, ribbon and sentiment are by A Muse, and the image is Elzybells distributed by A Muse and colored with Copics. Up next, the fourth and final challenge!

Pajama Party--Challenge 1!

Well, I made it back to civilization just in time to participate in the A Muse Pajama Party over at the Lounge!

My challenges were made even more challenging in the fact that I was doing them in between courses of dinner at my mom's house, so they were all super-quick and super-simple. I guess that makes them super-A Muse!

Challenge 1 was to make a card inspired by a favorite food or drink. I immediately thought of my wedding cake. It was one of the yummiest things I have ever tasted and combined two of my favorite flavors, chocolate cake with raspberry filling. Even now, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Anyway, here's the quickie card I came up with.

All images, brown ribbon and patterned paper are by A Muse and the tag is from Paper Garden. To represent my chocolate-raspberry cake, I stamped the cake image in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored it using my Dark Pink Copic. I'll be back in a flash with my next challenge card!

Dots or Spots?

Just poppin' in real quick to post my card for the Spot Challenge on the A Muse News blog.

I'm never quite sure though--are these dots or are they spots? I'm hoping they're one in the same for the challenge. Anyway, this card also features new dotted ribbon from A Muse. I love it, but I wish it came in more colors. For now, I've contented myself with pearl and the dark green.

Well, I'm off to Girl Scout day camp for the week. I'm the Craft Coordinator for about 150 girls, and I'm running two workshops simultaneously all day. Wish me luck!

Well Lookee Here!

I came back from camping to find that my mom's entry for the Twilight Challenge on the A Muse blog got into the Round-Up! (It's the one on the lower right corner.) Way to go, Mom!

That's It! I'm Keepin' Him!

Well, after seeing the cute mysterious man twice around town, I couldn't take it anymore. He had to be mine! So, I asked him if he liked camping. He said he loved being out in the forest (less direct sunlight, of course), so I invited him to come camping with me.

Wanna see?

We were sitting around the campfire the other night, and he said this:

"After falling for Bella, it was clear to me
That the girl I really love had a name starting with T!"

Awwww, thanks Eddie! I like you too!

Uh, I Think He's Following Me. . .

Man, that vampire sure gets around. I spotted him again later in the day. Look!

He waved as he passed, and then he said:

Tony Bennett loved this place so much he wrote a ditty
About leaving his heart within this city.

Has This Ever Happened to You?

Have you ever been so caught up in something that suddenly, it's everywhere you look? Like when you're considering buying a certain kind of car, and then all you see is that car on the road?

Well, a similar thing keeps happening to me! I'm between books 1 and 2 of the Twilight series, and I swear I keep seeing vampires!

I knew you wouldn't believe me, so I took a picture to prove it:

Now here's the weird part: As I was driving by this guy, he actually yells at me:

"I'm loving this city with its cable cars,
its Victorian houses and its foggy charm!"

What a strange guy, but man, he's cute!
